A hiker missing since Monday was found alive Thursday.

Cody Michael, 23, and his dog were expected back in Rocklin on May 16, but never showed. This was after Michael had texted a picture of the two of them to family.

They were in the Donner Pass area hiking the Loch Leven Trail.

Placer County sheriff’s deputies said both were “alive and well.” Michael was taken to a nearby hospital to be examined.
