AT&T reportedly lost at least one tower in the Emerald Fire, which caused Meyers and a large swath of South Lake Tahoe to be without phone and Internet service on Friday.

AT&T could not be reached to find out when service might be restored.

In addition to landlines being out, cell phone service was spotty at best for AT&T customers on Oct. 14.

The fire burning near Cascade Lake on the South Shore started about 1:30am Oct. 14 and is at 80 percent contained.
