·       El Dorado County Board of Supervisors will have a public hearing Dec. 13 at 9am in Placerville about raising rates for South Tahoe Refuse.

·       Reno Jazz Orchestra and Pat Ester’s Gospel Choir will perform at the Olympic Village Lodge on Dec. 21 at 7pm. For tickets, call 775.372.6160.

·       Whiskey Dicks in South Lake Tahoe is hosting a free New Year’s Eve party. Doors open at 9pm.

·       Sierra State Parks Foundation is offering four opportunities to dine at one of the Tahoe parks as a fundraiser. They include cocktails at Vikingsholm, breakfast on the porch of the Hellman-Ehrman Mansion in Sugar Pine Point State Park, dinner at the Ehrman Mansion, and dinner at Donner Memorial State Park Visitor Center Museum.     Why isn’t the hearing for the STR rate increase held in South Lake Tahoe ? This is where they do business and we are the ones paying. Make it easy for us to attend and debate another, what seems to be, automatic fee increase.

    Excellent point, Steven. Very few from SLT are willing or able to drive to Placerville on a weekday morning in December, and leave here prior to 8:00.
