·       South Lake Tahoe is having a meeting Dec. 14 from 5:30-7:30pm at the council chambers about the design for the Tahoe Valley greenbelt.

·       Tahoe Donner Cross Country Ski Area is open.

·       The annual tree lighting at the North Tahoe Events Center in Kings Beach is Dec. 2 from 5-7pm. Take photos with Santa and Mrs. Claus, live holiday music performances by the Boys & Girls Club of North Lake Tahoe, free holiday crafts, free soup, hot cocoa and more.

·       Tahoe National Forest sold-out of its 400 Christmas tree permits in four days.

·       The University of California Cooperative is putting on classes to train people to be master food preserver volunteers. The program overview meeting is Jan. 5 in Placerville. Applications are due Jan. 8. More info is online
