·       Tahoe National Forest sold-out of its 400 Christmas tree permits in four days.

·       The University of California Cooperative is putting on classes to train people to be master food preserver volunteers. The program overview meeting is Jan. 5 in Placerville. Applications are due Jan. 8. More info is online.
