Crews searching for missing kayaker at Tahoe

Search efforts resumed Friday morning for a kayaker who was reported missing from the D.L. Bliss State Park area on June 8.

Pham Dan Vu Thanh called a friend Thursday at 9:15am to tell him he was going kayaking and camping in the Lester Beach area. As of 6:15pm he had not been hear from.

The search was suspended at midnight and resumed at 6am June 9.

Resources from the El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office, U.S. Coast Guard, State Parks and other Lake Tahoe marine agencies are actively searching the area.

The kayaker is a Filipino adult male, 5-feet-7, 150 pounds, muscular build, short dark hair, multiple tattoos on shoulder and chest. The forest green kayak is 10-feet-long.
