A California Highway Patrol officer driving by Emerald Bay on Tuesday came across a cyclist down in the road.

He immediately called for an ambulance. This was at 3:38pm June 13.

The woman, whose name, age and hometown have not been released, was flown by CalSTAR to Renown Medical Center in Reno with a serious head trauma.

It is not known if she was wearing a helmet, how long she had been down or if she had been struck by a vehicle.
