Set back for Truckee affordable housing

The Truckee Artist Lofts suffered another funding setback, but the town leaders are not giving up on the affordable housing project.

Twice now the project has failed to receive the 9 percent California Low-Income Housing Tax Credit.

The proposal is for 77 apartments in a four-story building ranging from studios to three bedrooms, with a monthly rent of $402 to $1,600. Ten would be at market rate.

The housing project is part of the larger Truckee Railyard Mixed-Use Development Master Plan.
