The Cantina restaurant in South Lake Tahoe is almost an institution. But it might not be around much longer.

A for sale sign has been placed on the corner of this Emerald Bay Road establishment.

“After 20 stressful years of operating two restaurants, we are trying to scale back in preparation for an approaching retirement, as Candice and I are both in our 60s now. Evan’s has been open for nearly 30 years and will be continuing to operate under our direction for the indefinite future,” Evan Williams told Lake Tahoe News.

Evan and Candice Williams own the Cantina and Evan’s restaurants.

Philip Fagan, who is a partner in the business, owns the property where Cantina sits. He is open to leasing the building.
