South Tahoe High School girls tennis team is headed to the regional championships this week, with the hopes of competing in the state championships in Las Vegas on Oct. 19-21. The girls won their division this season.

The top two finishers from each team will go to state.

The boys and girls teams play Oct. 5 at home starting at noon and 3pm, respectively.

“Our star doubles team of Abby Burns and Gabbi Fisher were nearly undefeated in the regular season, having lost only the one line to Truckee’s No. 1 team,” coach Suzy Allione told Lake Tahoe News. “The entire team demonstrates sportsmanship and support like no other team in the league.”
