·     On May 3, the Lake Tahoe Environmental Magnet School took first place in the 34th annual Kiwanis/Katey Fagan Spelling Bee. Participating schools were Tahoe Valley, Sierra House, Bijou Elementary and the magnet. All participants will go on to the countywide spelling bee on May 11 in Shingle Springs.

·      Tahoe Truckee Unified School District has been named a Green Ribbon School District for a second consecutive year. TTUSD is the only school district in California to be nominated by the state Superintendent Tom Torlakson to compete in the U.S. Department of Education Green Ribbon Schools recognition program, which honors schools that conserve resources while promoting health and environmental literacy. 

·      Every Thursday now through June 7, TINS will be leading morning bird walks in Incline Village. Meet at the village green.

·      Off Road Tahoe is the newest adventure company to hit North Lake Tahoe, specializing in guided backcountry tours in utility terrain vehicles.

·      Little Faith, California’s gospel-inspired soul music collective returns to the Valhalla Tahoe Art, Music and Theater Festival on June 22 at 7:30pm. Tickets are available online.
