Hiker survives night in Desolation Wilderness

A Sacramento woman had to be airlifted out of Desolation Wilderness on Wednesday.

The woman, whose name has not been released, spent the night of June 5 in the wilderness with her dog after they got lost.

El Dorado County search and rescue personnel found them near Forni Lake. They were flown out by the California Highway Patrol helicopter. Their condition was not disclosed.
