Wyland Galleries in South Lake Tahoe is hosting two painters — James Coleman and Walfrido — July 16 from 4-8pm, and July 17-18 from 2-6pm.

Coleman is a romantic impressionist known for his sense of color and ability to translate emotion into image. He molded his professional career as a fine artist at Walt Disney Studios as a background animation specialist for 22 years. Winnie the Pooh, The Little Mermaid, and Beauty and the Beast came to life with James Coleman’s background images gracing the screen.

Walfrido is a third generation artist. He is know for his seascapes. Reflecting light through the water is his signature. His use of a delicate layering technique results in a 3-D effect. Walfrido believes “Truly great art stimulates not only the heart, but the mind”. Walfrido will be unveiling Tahoe pieces not generally found in other galleries.

The gallery is at 4000 Lake Tahoe Blvd. in the Village Center.
