Candidates begin filing for South Tahoe positions

As of July 19, the candidates who have taken out papers to run for South Lake Tahoe City Council are Tom Davis, Angela Swanson, Georg May and Claire Fortier. No one has turned the documents in.

Three positions are up on the Nov. 2 ballot.

City Clerk Suzie Alessi has taken out papers to retain her seat as city clerk and David Olivo has done the same to keep his job as city treasurer.

    Hope Angela turns in her papers… I think she would be great on the city council. She’s already doing so much for the community working for the school district on bond measures. She’s also very smart… which is a good quality for a council member.

    I am for all of them and none of them.
    What will change if new old blood follows in the failed footsteps of the incumbents.

    I have hope that some of these people can bring a new outlook and influence to the city counsel.

    It has to start somewhere, and we can’t replace them all at the same time, so hope some good people can get in there, and stay on the high road despite what others may do.

    Claire Fortier would definitely bring a breath of fresh air to the council! She would be an excellent choice for the city.
