As has been the tradition each summer since 1997, all eyes will be on Lake Tahoe this month when the 14th annual Lake Tahoe Summit unfolds on the beautiful shores of Nevada’s Sand Harbor State Park.

U.S. Sen. Harry Reid, host of this year’s summit on Aug. 17, has designated “Clarity for the Future: Protecting and Promoting the Wonder of Lake Tahoe” as a theme. This theme is fitting and appropriate, considering discussions taking place in Tahoe.

You just figured out the public pays for your jobs? The TRPA has strangled the Tahoe economy since inception, Joanne. Hopefully your Summit comes up with some ideas on how releasing your grip will benefit all of us.

Bob, they will NEVER voluntarily release their grip. They might encourage that illusion, but once government is allowed to have as much control as they do now and they can make their own rules without consent of the governed, AND make us pay for it. . .why should they?

Amazing. The environmentalists scream that TRPA is deliberately setting the stage for increased development. The other side screams that they are strangling the economy in the basin. Does neither side hear each other? Are they even on the same planet?

What does the burrito brothers restaurant being pink have to do with biological degradation of Tahoe?
