The United States Geological Survey website reports there was an earthquake of magnitude 2.1 under northwest Lake Tahoe this morning.

The Placer County Sheriff’s Office has not received any reports of anyone feeling the earthquake. The report has not been reviewed by a seismologist.

The quake was reported at 6:07am about 10 miles southeast of Truckee. It is reported to be at a depth of 5.3 miles.
