Chase: Real estate numbers improving in LT Basin

Third quarter sales figures in four major regions of Lake Tahoe plus Truckee continue to show a strong pattern of increased home sales.

Single family home sales in South Lake Tahoe, Incline Village, Tahoe City and Truckee saw significant growth in the first nine months of 2010.

“We are very pleased to see an increase two quarters in a row; however the median cost of homes are still tracking downward,” Sue Lowe, corporate broker and senior vice president of Chase International, said in a press release. “Buyers understand that this is the time to obtain the ultimate value in housing and are purchasing these incredible deals at rapid rates.

The units sold for the Lake Tahoe Basin are up 28 percent and sales volume is up 37 percent, according to Chase.

Chase reports on the South Shore, total sales volume is up 32 percent and units sold up 28 percent; Tahoe City, sales volume is up 67 percent and units sold up 46 percent; Incline Village, sales volume is up 28 percent and units sold up 27 percent; on the the East Shore of Tahoe sale volume is up 9 percent, units sold down 2 percent; and in Truckee, the sales volume of is up 9 percent and units sold is up 13 percent.
