To the community,

The Brotherhood Motorcycle Club wishes to thank local business and community members here in South Lake Tahoe and Stateline for their generous donations for our annual fundraiser Hogg Wild XV.

We raised a total of $1,000 during the Hogg Wild raffle.

brotherhoodBecause of our communities’ generosity, we were able to provide 86 turkeys to families in need this Thanksgiving.

The giveaway at the American Legion Post 795 was a huge success thanks to the following individuals, businesses and community members: Thanks to Jim and Christine from Lira’s Market for putting the dinner packages together, they really stepped up when the other stores would not. Thanks to Joanne, Wilma, Virginia and Jody from Christmas Cheer, who were there to help distribute the turkeys at the Legion. Thanks to Lake Tahoe News and the Tahoe Daily Tribune for promoting the giveaway in print and online. Thanks to KRLT radio’s Paul Middlebrook at KTHO for letting us go on the air live the day of the giveaway to help promote it. A big thanks goes out to Tom Davis and the employees at MontBleu for donating additional turkeys that day for us to give away. Last, but by no means least, a special thanks to John, Carol and Mary from the American Legion, who were kind enough to open the Legion Hall for us to carry out the giveaway so we were not out in the cold.

The Brotherhood Motorcycle Club could not have done this without the more than $4,000 in raffle prize donations from our wonderful community and numerous individuals for our annual event.

Also, a special thanks to Clint Schue and The Brothers Bar for hosting our event.

Thank you South Lake Tahoe.

We get stereotyped by people like this reality bites all the time , even when we help the needy in our community. What did you do for your community this month? Brotherhood is a family club who particapates in fund raisers all year long. This weekend we are supporting the Reno Toy Run. We will also be helping Christmas Cheer hand out toys for Christmas in our community this month. Once again what has this other reader done for this community besides belittle people who are out to help our community.

Looks like our Gang Task Force has to much time on their hands playing on the computer. I am a proud member of The Brotherhood and I resent the idea that we are connected in any way with another club. I did an interview on our local tv station and they alluded that we sell Meth on the corner. I have lived here for 35 years, own a business, have a family and been married almost 30 years. I donate to every local fundraiser and try and attend most to donate more. I was also in the Military for over 20 yeras and retired a Major. Most of our club are Vets, own homes, have kids and work in our community. Think what you want as we cannot change the perception of the public or police as to what we are. The police are constantly following us taking pictures asking “Gang” questions in the hope of making that big bust. Just call me and ask instead of sneaking around our houses taking pictures from over fences and drivebys, it’s annoying and our kids won’t get the wrong perception of you. We are a group that likes to ride and give back to the community we live in. Reality, you are wrong in your perception of us but you are entitled to think what you want and post what you want but you are wrong. I guess that’s why I spent all those years in the military to defend that right for some people to show publicly what fools they are. Feel free to post behind your computer without fear of retribition, unlike some third world country thanks to Veterans. Admin, if they said that you were affiliated with another paper would you respond as in the past telling us who they are? I am not asking but just commenting. Also, Thank You, LTN, for this site as it is something we have sorley needed, independant thinking. Ken Curtzwiler
