“…women only event”? Wow, and to think, I thought we were trying for equality. How inclusive.

I agree with dumbfounded. What started out as a push for equality, between the sexes, the races, or whatever, has become the promotion of separation of the classes.

Not that there’s anything wrong with a girls’ only race. But imagine the uproar if they tried to have a boys’ only race.

Yeah because men don’t have enough of everything….

Until you’ve seen this race, don’t criticize. The vibe at this event was so calm and supportive vs LT marathon. It is a wonderful beginner event, which had almost 600 participants last fall.

^^ Agreed. Talking to female athletes, there is always a mention of how the atmosphere of all female events are much more enjoyable, friendly, and supportive.
Those who criticize this event for being female only are ridiculous.
I, being an android, have no real stake in any of this.

There are many boys only events – nfl, mlb, nba, nhl, college football and many others. Some of you just don’t want women to have anything.

This event is a great event for our town…its not about men and women having equality, its about women enjoying an event created for them where the competitors are equal. Why must there always be controversy where SLT is concerned?

Thank you Iron Girl for bringing the event back!
