Nevada approves bear hunting, including in Tahoe
By Keith Rogers, Las Vegas Review-Journal
The state Wildlife Commission voted Friday to establish Nevada’s first bear hunting season in an emotional-packed meeting that drew opposition from animal rights activists.
The nine-member commission voted 7-1 with Commissioner Charles Howell casting the dissenting vote.
Chairman Scott Raine did not vote.
I read this story while downing my meal of Chicken Nuggets and Sausage and eggs.
How dare hunters kill bears.
BTW the nuggets and sausage were delicious.
I can’t wait for the new menu offering, starting in March for Venison Nuggets.
Tell me how Mammoth has a large bear population and since its policies set back in the 90’s, not one bear has had to be killed. I have had encouters with bears living in tahoe, including one that drank a full case of Red Bulls on my back porch one night last spring…my fault for leaving it out. Our bears do not harm people, just look for food….especially since we live in their community….not vice versa. There has to be a legal way to overturn this Commission’s ruling, and have the will of the people considered…HUNTING BEARS IS NOT THE ANSWER!
free country last i checked but because of stupid people we can’t enjoy it…if you don’t agree with it or like it, then don’t do it…i hate it when people want to make something illegal just because…how un-american! how dare un-americans live in america!
