Truckee man gets 25 to life under 3 strikes law

A Truckee man with a long criminal history, including manslaughter, has been sent to prison under the state’s “three-strikes” law.
Douglas Harold Doyle, 51, whose past crimes including an alcohol-related vehicular manslaughter conviction in which a Tahoe City schoolteacher was killed, was sent to prison for 25 years to life, according to a news release from the Placer County District Attorney’s Office.
He pleaded guilty to a charge of drunken driving and was sentenced Feb. 2 by Placer County Superior Court Judge Colleen Nichols.
