The National Weather Service in Reno issued a winter weather advisory for Lake Tahoe starting at 11pm Wednesday through 11am Thursday.

Snow is expected to fall Wednesday evening into Thursday morning then turn to showers, with the heaviest precipitation being around midnight overnight.

Snow accummulations are predicted to measure 4 to 8 inches at lake level and 8 to 14 above 7,000 feet, which encompasses most of the passes.

Travel may be sketchy with possible whiteout conditions from the gusty winds. Road restrictions will probably apply.
