Labor-backed mailers attack Beth Gaines

A labor-backed independent expenditure committee has launched a last-minute attack against Republican Beth Gaines in the 4th Assembly District.
Opportunity PAC reported this week that it has spent more than $9,000 on mail pieces opposing Gaines, a candidate in next week’s special election to fill the seat vacated when her husband, Ted Gaines, was elected to the state Senate.
Maybe a rest from the Gaines family would be in order. When Sonny Bono was killed, Mary took his seat. She’s certainly no Sonny Bono!
Everyone has an opportunity to vote. Ms. Gaines wouldn’t have been my choice either, but I’m not sure we need anymore pro-union lifetime government employees in the legislature either. Unfortunately, not enough people voted in the “primary” vote on this issue, and we got what we got. You now have those two choices.
