Hot August Nights puts it in gear for Lake Tahoe
Classic chrome polished cars, rock ‘n’ roll and Lake Tahoe will make for a Hot August Nights to remember, Aug. 6-9 at MontBleu in Stateline.
MontBleu will be the headquarters for show-n-shines, car exhibits, exclusive car auctions, cruises and an outdoor pavilion with food, beverages and great oldies music. Take in the sun with the top down, and then at night step inside MontBleu to unwind Tahoe-style, with music, dining and a host of shows, including Aaron Lewis Aug. 6 and KC & The Sunshine Band Aug. 7 in the MontBleu Theater.
Sounds good but what gear? We need overdrive and full speed to make HAN a viable first stop to the main event in Reno. If Tahoe did a tenth of what was done to bring Amgen here we would create an event worth attending for thousands of classic car folks that are in a position to return and spend big dollars with us. I have heard a number of estimates for Reno to be $300 million!
We dont have to duplicate Reno but put our own twist with added concerts and marketing to let them all know theres more to HAN than a overcrouded and HOT Reno parking lot.
Phil has it right. Why aren’t the funds and energy being put into a proven event?
