With the state changing how it pays colleges and the local community clamoring for enrichment classes, the college has come up with a way to make money and keep people happy.

While it’s not expected that many classes will be offered in the fall, a larger selection should be available in the winter. Classes are expected to much less than a quarter in length.

Cynthea Preston, dean of Instruction, said a website just for community education is being developed. There will also be a link to it directly from LTCC’s website. This should be operational in August.

thats great. Perhaps classes can be held of weekends for those who work during week and to not disrupt regular classes. Perhaps in the same or similar format as the summer special topics classes. I was very upset that the very popular Raku class was dropped for this summer. There are alot of dissapointed folks who planned for that 2 weeks summer class. Is there a site for the community to offer suggestions?
