Susan Adams

Susan Elaine Adams was born July 28, 1950, in Fort Collins, Colo., to Ruth and Bill Jordan. She was the third child of five girls and one boy.

Her family spent most of her childhood in Brawley, Calif., where she graduated from high school.

As a young adult, Susan hoped to be a school teacher or writer and went to community college in California. During that time she met her husband, Robert Adams. Susan went on to raise their two children, Jessica and Ryan, as a single parent in California, eventually settling in her beloved city of South Lake Tahoe. There Susan fell in love with her longtime sweetheart David “Chas” Blake.

Susan ran a local business; Tahoe Keys Sub and Yogurt. After David’s retirement, Susan joined him in establishing their home in Buffalo, Wyo, where they established friendships, set up a hunting camp, grew vegetables, made jewelry and enjoyed her four grandchildren, Ella, Aaralyn, Katrin and Daylan.

Susan is survived by her four sisters, Kathy Lines, Sandy Carter, Billie Bernard and Jill Merriman; her brother Hank Jordan; her two children Jessica Wilson and Ryan Adams; and her four grandchildren Ella Wilson, Aaralyn Adams, Katrin Wilson and Daylan Adams.

Her sense of spirituality, adventure, love and care will be dearly missed by them all.

Reading this makes me so sad. Susan took me under her wing when I was new to Tahoe and struggling. This was back in 1985. Blessings to Jessica and Ryan. I know that your Mom is an Angel now. She was one grounded on earth and just earned her wings. My heart goes out to her family. Such a special woman.

Dearest Aunt Susie, we will miss your contagious laughter and beaming smile. We will forever treasure the wonderful adventures we shared together in Colorado last summer, and will always remember you as that fun loving spirit. Our prayers go out to our cousins; Jessica, Ryan, their little ones, and to Chas for all the love and affection that he devoted to Aunt Susie. Peace and God be with you all in these difficult times.

    Amanda & Ryan and family….

I have fond memories of your Mom; at the Yogurt Shop in Tahoe Keys Center, through a Women’s support group we participated in and through my sister, who your Mom was a great support to.

My sincere sympathy for your loss.
