Child abuse panel seeks additional member

El Dorado County Child Abuse Prevention Council is accepting applications for board membership to fill one vacancy serving at the discretion of the Board of Supervisors.

The vacancy is for community representation-community volunteer-civic organization-religious communities.

The 15-member council is a legislatively mandated body advising the Board of Supervisors on issues related to prevention intervention and treatment of child abuse and neglect.

Applicants must submit cover sheet and application to Elizabeth Blakemore, El Dorado County Child Abuse Prevention Council, 6767 Green Valley Road, Placerville, CA 95667. Prospective candidates may call (530) 295.2312 or email eblakemore@edcoe.org for an application packet and additional information. The deadline for applications is Aug. 19 at 5pm.

    I think that Ernie Claudio would be a natural for this. He is great with kids and has been active in trying to ensure that the rights of children and parents are protected within the structure of Child Protective Services.
