Westbound Interstate 80 is shut down Tuesday morning after two big rigs collided and caught fire, officials said.

It appears as though one big rig jackknifed and slammed into the other.

A second crash happened due to the backup, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Traffic is being diverted off I-80 onto Highway 20 between Colfax and Truckee, in the Gold Run area.

Officials aren’t sure what time the road will reopen.

No additional details were released.
