I wouldn’t use Blue. Have you seen the shoreline?

I would love to see more pictures in color of the Bears and the coyotes on billboards of all the animals of the forest we have here,It is the forest, and it is Lake Tahoe .

I would promote more than the businesses the board members of the LTVA work for.

Don’t promote a specific business, but rotate various aspects of our great outdoors! One year the beaches, next year the hiking trails, next the bike trails…

And then promote what a great place Tahoe is in the off seasons of Fall & Spring.

The premise of your question is wrong!

In America – when it was working – free markets were in charge. That is how we build America. Effective people would do well and the crap would be out the door.

Yes of course you need regulations and standards to protect the environment. I am all for that.

Regs should be in place and applied evenly to keep the standards adhered too and that is it.

You sound like Russia did 30 yrs ago- “If you were in charge” – It is that type of thinking that is what is wrong. You want to turn this place around? Then you must get rid of that mentality.

Glad I am out of here – only 5 more days of this…

Promote all the great outdoor activities and events that are held here every year!
Marathons, round the lake bike rides, Hot August Nights, et al. Out of area advertising for our drive up audience would help. I drive between the Bay Area and Tahoe regularly and never see adverts inviting people to Tahoe, but plenty of ads for those casinos between there and here.

Think like a traveler…..do you start your plan with the details of hotel, restaurants and shopping (I did meet a couple of women in Paris once that were there just for that), but mostly you’re looking for a destination or event you’d like to participate in and then you get to the details.

LTVA $$ should put their dollars toward this rather than promoting individual businesses. If they come, they’ll spend, stay and come back if they have a good experience.

Local governmental investment and use of other special measures to improve recreational infrastructure make the experience a really great one.

Individual businesses need to reach out beyone the basin and differentiate themselves, but not thru the use of public $$.

    Just saying…..

The mountain biking opportunities in the basin are spectacular. (Sure, I’m happier with fewer folks on the trail, but it’s selfish to NOT get the word out). I could happily spend eternity ridding just the trails between Spooner Summit and Luther Pass — and this is a small segment of MTB trails. USFS and the CCC have down yeoman’s work building and improving trails over the past five years. It’s such a well-kept secret!

We’ve got it all! Would be the new slogan. We have such a variety of activities in our beautiful lakeside mountain city that the whole family will be entertained.

I plan to promote it by building a new social media site, one place to go to book rooms, check out the hiking, biking, fishing, skiing scenes, chat with your Tahoe friends, shop at participating Tahoe retail stores, etc. It’ll put visitors in touch with locals, there’ll be reviews, a community place for the non-profits to have a voice, etc.

I would put a new takeon an our old slogan, America’s All Year Playground. Make everyone from every demographic feel wlecome here not just the rich, beautiful people, (we already have aVail and Aspen). Promote the environment, the outdoors, the activities, the small town feel. Open the airport back up to commercial service and provide a comprehensive transportation system for visitors.
