A vehicle driven by an alleged drunken driver crashed into the back of the Ski Haus Lodge in South Lake Tahoe, breaking a natural gas line that necessitated temporary evacuation of lodging guests there and at the Economy Inn.

Ronald MacKenzie, 26, of Colorado was arrested on charges of driving under the influence after the Dec. 16 8:30am accident. A test at the scene showed a blood alcohol level of 0.11 percent, according to officers.
