Racing may have led to fatal EDC crash

Several vehicles may have been racing on Salmon Falls Road in El Dorado County early Sunday before three young people were killed in a solo car crash, investigators said.
“That is something we are looking into,” California Highway Patrol spokesman Officer Dan Stark said Friday. “There is a suspicion there may have been street racing involved.”
Street racing is illegal and could lead to charges, he said.
