Regional transit ideas to be discussed

Tahoe Transportation District is having two public workshops next week to talk about transit options that would link the South and North shores.

Carl Hasty, executive director of TTD, told Lake Tahoe News nine proposals have been whittled down to three.

However, those proposals are not available online for people to review before the meetings. The only obvious information is for what is being called an aquabus.

No details of the meetings have been released to the media other than the dates-locations. The first meeting is March 6 at 6pm at 128 Market St., Stateline (the TRPA office); the second is March 7 at 6pm at 221 Fairway, Tahoe City (the Tahoe City PUD office).

The transportation board is expected to vote on a preferred alternative at the April meeting, then the environmental review process begins after that.

It would be great to have better transportation available between North & Slouth Tahoe. I also like the Aquabus idea.

Get this ,you are not getting people out their cars, trucks, suv’s, boats, or have them put down the cell phones.

Wastes of time, coffee, lighting to even hold the dicussion.

You want a tourist attraction that be nice, build a tube under the lake, staight line with rail and auto travel, bike lane.
Sure it cost lots doe…but what doesn’t that works gets people to use it steady?

Tahoe is the land of talk, talk, talk – all this stuff has been talked about for years.

While you keep paying these agency people to lead talk after talk after talk your town is crumbling down.

The Tahoe community fits the definition of insanity, you keep doing the same things over and over again and expect different results.

Yes Joe, for once you seem to speak from personal experience!

You live up to my low expectations of the average SLT liberal’s ability to comprehend the problems facing the region and the state.

From here – talk to the hand. I won’t waist my time reading your posts let alone responding to them. They are worthless.
