Indian gaming plays a role in Silver Legacy’s bankruptcy

The Silver Legacy was supposed to rejuvenate Reno’s ailing casino market. Instead, it became one of the biggest victims to date of the Northern California Indian gaming. The mammoth 17-year-old casino filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy reorganization last week after a deal to restructure its $142.8 million in debts fell apart.

The 37-story, 1,700-room resort will stay open. In a letter posted on the resort’s website, chief executive Gary Carano promised “business as usual.”

But the Northern Nevada market remains deeply troubled, and Reno gaming consultant Ken Adams said one of Reno’s casinos could close. “Long term, there are too many casinos in the market,” he said.

    So to all those Whale Host that left little old Harvey’s behind,DON,TIM, FEW OTHERS,TOLD YOU GO THUNDERVALLEY,They still got action,PLENTY CASH IN RESERVES FOR ANOTHER NEW WING,GOOD SHOWS.THE ONES THAT DID GO DOWN THERE, SOLD THEIR OVER PRICES CASTLES ON KINGSBURY GOT BIGGER BETTER CASTLES DOWN THERE,FOLDING MONEY FOR OUT THE COUNTRY JOY TIME.PLUS they still take the whale’s to Salmon fishing up north,bear hunting in Alaska,fishing off the coast Mexico with better companies to work with than they dealt with up here.

    Don’t even bother coming back to HOLE TOWN……THERE’S NOTHING HERE EITHER UNLESS YOU WANT OPEN A BIKE RENTAL SHOP,SELL HOT DOGS TO CHEAP TIGHT WAD TOURIST,TRY SELL HIKING GEAR ,NEW SKI TO DRAG BEHIND THE BOAT.
    JUST TO TELL YOU HOW BAD IT IS HERE,I HAD TO ORDER Vacuum BELTS FROM Ohio,NONE IN THIS TOWN, LEAVE THE HILL TO BUY A NEW FREEZER.
    They just don’t have much to offer here in Hole town.
