Kings Beach State Recreation Area for the 3rd of July Fireworks Celebration put on by the North Tahoe Business Association!

Our private beach at Tahoe Shores!! Even beats the top of Harvey’s, which I’ve seen them from as well. ;)

  3. Lakeside Properties-Tahoe Shores Mobile Home Park says - Posted: June 27, 2012

Yes, we agree with Step that our PRIVATE Beach which is located at the end of Kahle Dr. at Tahoe Shores Mobile Home Park is truly one of the best locations to watch the fireworks. However, this is PRIVATE property and the beach is for our residents use only. We are strictly enforcing the trespassing laws so avoid the fine….go to Nevada Beach!

  4. biggerpicture says - Posted: June 27, 2012

There is just something inherently wrong with private beaches! Isee them as national treasures to be shared by us all! At least in Hawai’i they understand that.

  5. lou pierini says - Posted: June 27, 2012

And Ca., to at least to the high water limit.

  6. tahoeadvocate says - Posted: June 27, 2012

Lakeside Beach is privately owned but the property owners have been allowing the public to use it for quite a few years. Yes there is a fee, but it is staffed with life guards, kept clean, has restrooms, garbage cans, etc., the State of California charges an exhorbitant fee every year as well as property taxes too. The good thing is that it doesn’t cost the city one penny let alone $7.5M like they just spent at El Dorado, yet tourists and locals have access.

  7. Lakeside Properties-Tahoe Shores Mobile Home Park says - Posted: June 27, 2012

Lakeside Properties dba Tahoe Shores Mobile Home Park is located at the end of Kahle Dr. This is NOT Lakeside Beach as referenced above. This is PRIVATE property and includes the PRIVATE beach to which our residents pay for and the company owns. The high / low water mark does not apply in Nevada. Signage is clearly posted at both ends of the beach and at the entrance to the “gated community”. Trespassers will be cited with a fine up to $682. Management is enforcing this and Douglas County will be called. There is a PUBLIC Beach at Nevada Beach so it would be in everyone’s best interst to go there and avoid this PRIVATE beach.

  8. tahoeadvocate says - Posted: June 27, 2012

Lakeside Beach as referenced above is located between Stateline Blvd. and Park Ave. in South Lake Tahoe,Ca. It is also PRIVATE property which the property owners of Lakeside Park pay for and own. The difference is that the owners of Lakeside Beach do share their property with the public. They want want to be part of the community not viewed as elitists. Every day you can come to Lakeside Beach and buy a pass, just like Nevada Beach.

  9. Tahoe Local says - Posted: June 27, 2012

Wow, I sense a bit of anger from the person who is writing as “Lakeside Properties”. The question is simply where one thinks is the best place to watch fireworks. I didn’t think I’d read so much negativity. How sad. Just love how he/she capitalized the word “private” 5 times! Does someone have issues?! Anywhere in Tahoe is a great place to watch the fireworks because you are in Tahoe! Enjoy!

  10. romie says - Posted: June 27, 2012

I know for a fact that the beach at Lakeside Properties/Tahoe Shores is accessible to the public. They pay security next-to-nothing so usually $5 is all it takes to access the beach.

  11. Lakeside Properties-Tahoe Shores Mobile Home Park says - Posted: June 28, 2012

Tahoe Local: No anger, no issues or negativity here, sorry if you feel that way. Just stating a fact that this property is PRIVATE, the beach is PRIVATE and trespassers will be cited.

Romie: You are mistaken. Lakeside Properties / Tahoe Shores is NOT open to the public. As stated it is PRIVATE. Nevada Beach is open to the public.

The question asked is “Where is the best place to watch fireworks?” Our PRIVATE beach is a fantastic place to do just that. We also have several activites planned, entertainment, and a barbeque for our awesome residents who look forward to enjoying their PRIVATE beach with their invited guests. No “elitists” attitude here, it’s just one of the many perks of living here that our residents get to enjoy and the 4th of July is no exception.

As for Tahoe Advocates comment “The difference is that the owners of Lakeside Beach do share their property with the public. They want want to be part of the community not viewed as elitists” you are very much mistaken as we are a major part of the community, but this is still PRIVATE property.

If Lake Tahoe News would like to speak with us for further information we would welcome the opportunity as this is not the forum to discuss or debate. We agree, there are many wonderful places to enjoy the fireworks…..ENJOY!

  12. lou pierini says - Posted: June 28, 2012

It is not private below the natural rim of Lake Tahoe which is 6223 ft. above sea level. Just the facts. In Ca. the beach is public below 6229.1 ft. or 6228.7 ft. of elevation and once your there its yours.

  13. TeaTotal says - Posted: June 28, 2012

Does this statement by TAHOE SHORES MOBILE HOME PARK mean that the FREE BEER and FREE FOOD on the 4TH OF JULY for the PUBLIC is only a rumor?

  14. FULL TIME says - Posted: June 28, 2012

There is no such thing as a private beach in Tahoe, so go to Tahoe Shores or Light House Shores. Me I go to a little hill by my house but that is my private hill so stay away!!!

  15. Nan says - Posted: June 28, 2012

Beaches in Lake Tahoe are NOT Priivate!! In fact I am sure I heard something about a flash mob dance planned at both Tahoe Shores & Light House Shores on the 4th :) hehe be ready, hehe

  16. Tiggy Chrystaal says - Posted: June 28, 2012

4th of July fireworks do nothing but emulate war & scare animals who are trying to get by in a place raped once (?) a year by lazy Loon Tunes who have no idea how to treat a national treasure. I say ban the stupid noise and litter.

  17. tahoeadvocate says - Posted: June 28, 2012

Tiggy— They emulate war as an honor to those who died in them to protect your right to make stupid comments.

  18. Old Long Skiis says - Posted: June 28, 2012

4th of July on a boat. Sure it’s crazy out there but well worth it.
A few tips , be sure the boat is in good working order. All lights work and a fully charged battery as well as a full tank of fuel. Get there early! Get close to the barge and set at least two anchors, one bow and one stern.
Lots of nuts out there so keep your eyes open for the crazies.
If you can, spend the night on the boat and troll back home the next morning. Much better than fighting the crowds trying to make it back to the dock in the dark after the show.
Take care, Old Long Skiis (did I say it gets crazy out there? until you experience it, you have no idea!)

  19. Lakeside Properties-Tahoe Shores Mobile Home Park says - Posted: June 28, 2012

Not sure where the “Free” for public comments came from as it was clear that the activities are for our residents and their guests only. Sorry!

As for the flash mob comment Nan…our residents and their guests may be doing some dancing to our private entertainment but everyone else will be cited for trespassing. Security is on hand…take it to Nevada Beach and have a ball!! It will be great to watch and what a fun idea, just not on our PRIVATE beach anyways.

  20. 30yrlocal says - Posted: June 28, 2012

Watching from Edgewood is one of the best spots…you’re so close! I have never had the chance to watch from a boat, but before my time is up on this earth that is on my bucket list! In the meantime, I have my special spot :). Lakeview Commons has great seating this year.

And remember what Lou said above about where private beaches end. The drought years had lots of space for everyone.

According to my local family sources… some of my G’Kid’s young lawyer friends are considering making the Tahoe Shores a test case of “private beach”, “rent-a-cop citation” richie rich crap. Enjoy!

  23. Kathy says - Posted: July 1, 2012

Hey no disputes ,There in the sky < You can see them ,look up, Enjoy,

  24. lou pierini says - Posted: July 1, 2012

One of that places that provides public access is the Timber Cove Lodge, it’s in the deed. Access is the key to getting to the public beach i.e. 6229.1 ft above sea level. and below on the Ca. side.

  25. Wow…there are so many beaches in Tahoe why people still feel the need to trespass on this private property and face a misdemeanor trespassing fine baffles us. Our residents pay for this private beach and they appreciate the fact that management enforces the NRS trespassing law. We agree with Kathy, just look up, there are so many places to watch the fireworks and we hope everyone enjoys a safe holiday. As for mojomixumup comment “According to my local family sources… some of my G’Kid’s young lawyer friends are considering making the Tahoe Shores a test case of “private beach”, “rent-a-cop citation” richie rich crap. Enjoy!” Test case? Well, the residents and management of Tahoe Shores wish you all a wonderful and safe 4th of July! Enough said

  26. Tahoe Tony says - Posted: July 3, 2012

Nevada beach is one of the best spots but get there early. It gets packed fast. Firebreak is a cool spot too as long as you don’t mind walking back to the car with a headlamp. You park at the end of Saddle road and walk in. The fireworks are smaller from there though but you are almost looking down on them.

As for the Tahoe Shores morons, just don’t deal with them. They are two ex police that look for reasons to call Douglas county down and arrest someone. They even extended the fence out into the lake. It will be interesting to see the legality of that. They own the beach, not the water. For the couple of nice people that live in there those two that run the “gated community” AKA trailer park are two grade A douches. Don’t even waste your time. Douglas county will have plenty of better things to do but they’ll still waste their time to get someone for trespassing.

What isn’t against the law though is giving them the finger from a public beach. I’d suggest exercising that privilege. They don’t care if you have a safe holiday. They just care that you don’t go to their property.

Enjoy the beach and remember, there is no booze on the beach so you would have to go to a camp site. Also, watch parking on Kahle because there has been some robberies lately. Don’t park at the apartments either because they are probably going to get you towed. There is public parking at the garage near the sheriff station. Also at Safeway and it’s not a long walk to the beach.

  27. Tahoe Shores resident says - Posted: July 5, 2012

Well, it is the same old arguement of is the beach private or not. Obviously, most people say no, and the property owners and management says yes. What is funny is that The Board of Reagents University of Nevada owns the Property right next to Lakeside Properties, and they too state they have a private beach. Yet no one seems to complain about that. They also enforce the private beach access with security folks running off trespassers. Looking at the property lines at the Douglas County Assessors page, http://adb.co.douglas.nv.us/newmaps/pdf/1318-22-002.pdf
It shows both properties run right down to the water line. The only reason people are complaining about Lakeside Properties/Tahoe Shores is that property management is enforcing those rules and having them cited by the Douglas County Sheriffs department, not some rental security company. Another issue of enforcing the rule, people just ignore the no tresspassing signs and walk through the property and the homes people live in to get to the beach. Any private gated community would trespass you just the same as Lakeside Properties/Tahoe Shores does. Get over it folks.

As if the lake is not big enough to go find another spot to watch the fireworks from. If you want to use the private beach at Lakeside Properties rent from them. You can have the same view we get to see every year. So go ahead and rant and rave at my post here on the web site. You can say what you want but facts are facts. Have a great Tahoe day.

  28. mojomixumup says - Posted: July 5, 2012

You are obviously not a Tahoe Shores resident but are the sycophantic property manager that posted all the KEEP OUT PRIVATE!, GO AWAY RABBLE! warnings to the public in the last few days before the 4th. I hope you had paranoia attacks all evening worrying about the influx of commoners storming the gates and upsetting your masters. You’ve been punked! Most of the responses to your original post were, of course, in jest.

  29. Nan says - Posted: July 5, 2012

Yes, I must admit when I made the post about flash mobs showing up I was just messing with the “Holier than thou” folks. It just gets tiresome listening to those who think their better than others and their s#*# don’t stink. Just saying:) not being a hater

  30. Well NAN and Mojomixumup as a matter of fact “Tahoe Shores Resident” is just that…a resident who truly appreciates the fact that we do enforce the trespassing rules. As for management having a “paranoia attacks all evening worrying about the influx of commoners storming the gates and upsetting your masters” actually you are the one that will be disappointed. We all enjoyed our 4th very much and we hope you did the same. We not “Holier than thou” folks or “think their better than others and their s#*# don’t stink” no punking here….our residents enjoyed their PRIVATE BEACH and had one of the best views of the fireworks. We hope you had a wonderful 4th of July!!! We certainly did.
