Fire safety event in Genoa

Learn how to keep your family and property safe from the threat of fire.

Representatives from the East Fork Fire and Paramedic District, Nevada Division of Forestry, state Fire Marshal’s Office, Bureau of Land Management, U.S. Forest Service, Citizens Emergency Response Team, Genoa Volunteer Fire Department, and Douglas County Search and Rescue will distribute free information July 28.

Learn about “Living with Fire” and other fire safe programs. Many different types of emergency response vehicles will be on site, including engines, water trucks, brush trucks, jeeps, and more. Meet and talk with local firefighters and other emergency responders. Kids can visit Smokey the Bear and sit in some of the vehicles.

The event is from 10am-2pm at Mormon Station State Historic Park in Genoa.
