Charter to sell billions in stock

Charter Communications Inc., which emerged from bankruptcy in November, plans to sell nearly 78 million shares of stock worth up to $2.7 billion.
The proposed maximum offering price is $34.50 a share, according to a filing Thursday with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
