The Sugar Pine Foundation is putting on a tree climbing demonstration Sept. 15.

The free event is from 10am-noon at Sugar Pine Point State Park on the West Shore.

Experts will be climbing old-growth sugar pines to harvest their cones as part of the annual cone collection.

Bring a helmet and gloves to help out as ground crew.
