Then and now: More open space now compared to 1965

McDonald's is just out of the photo on the left, with the rest of that side of the highway being Linear Park.

These pictures are of Highway 50 near Sonora Avenue in South Lake Tahoe.

People often say the South Shore  is overdeveloped today, but clearly there were more buildings in this section of the city  in the mid-1960s.

The photos are looking toward Stateline.

    Thanks for sharing! I remember the other side of the road and the buildings but forgot this side. Always great to see the old pictures!

    TAUs went to ski run hotel/timeshare and embassy at stateline at the ratio of 1.3 transit occupancy units torn down for 1 new TAU.
