• South Lake Tahoe planning commissioners granted historic sign status to Tahoe Valley Pharmacy and Burger Lounge. The latter closed on Sept. 30 – but it’s the mug that has significance, not the name.

• On Oct. 10 at 6pm there will be a South Lake Tahoe neighborhood meeting for people living in the Tahoe Keys, Tahoe Island, Tahoe Valley and Gardner Mountain areas. The meeting is in the Tahoe Keys Association Conference Room, 356 Ala Wai Blvd.

• Strategic Marketing Group’s Tahoe Tourism, Technology + Marketing Workshop is Nov. 1 in South Lake Tahoe. For more info or to register, call (530) 541.2462, ext. 102.

• In 2011, Barton Memorial Hospital’s Skilled Nursing Facility staff and medical personnel made a goal for 2012 to earn a five-star rating from Medicare. That goal was met in September.

• On Oct. 12 from 9am-4pm there is a blood drive at the Incline Village Recreation Center gym. To schedule an appointment, call (775) 832.5058.

    I wish the neighborhood meeting wasn’t in conflict with the candidate’s forum at South Tahoe High.

    TUESDAY October 9th is the correct date for the Al Tahoe Neighborhood workshop. The workshop will be held in the multi-purpose room at the South Lake Tahoe Middle School from 6pm to 8pm.

    OCTOBER 10th is the incorrect date.

    There are flyers around town and anyone is invited to come and find out whats going on with the Harrison Avenue Streetscape and Water Quality Improvement Project, what the City is starting to think about regarding Parking Management Concepts and 2013 Event Planning for Lakeview Commons.

    JoAnne, there won’t be a conflict with the Candidates’ Forum. We just need to make sure folks are aware of the correct date for the workshop.

    I apologize for confusing the issue.

    October 9th is the Al Tahoe neighborhood workshop.

    October 10th is the Tahoe Keys, Gardner Mountain, Tahoe Valley and Tahoe Island neighborhoods’ meeting.
