Brooklyn poet Lexa Hillyer, winner of Bona Fide Book’s 2011 Melissa Lantis Gregory Poetry Prize, will read from her prize-winning collection on Nov. 2.

Each year the Meyers publishing house chooses a work of poetry to publish in honor of Lantis.

“Acquainted with the Cold” is this year’s selection.

The Nov. 2 7pm event is part of Lake Tahoe Community Colleges’ Writers’ Series.

The free event is at the South Lake Tahoe college’s library.

Also featured will be Sacramento Poet Laureate Jeff Knorr.
