A group of partners has come together to present a State of the South Shore Economy forum on Oct. 23 at Embassy Suites in South Lake Tahoe.

The event will kick off at 5pm with a social hour, followed by the forum from 6-8pm.

Speakers and topics feature: Tahoe Prosperity Center Chairman, Thomas Greene; Lake Tahoe South Shore Chamber of Commerce board Chairman Casey Blann; Strategic Marketing Group President Carl Ribaudo; Tahoe Resource Conservation District Executive Director John Skeel; and chamber President B Gorman.

Ribaudo will present an overview of the South Shore’s economy from the perspective of tourism, while Gorman will present a video from the June Chamber Trek to Monterey, Livermore, and Sacramento. Skeel and Greene will facilitate the evening’s activities and will ask participants and speakers to explore where our competitors may have had to overcome challenges similar to those our community faces.

Additionally, the facilitators will guide participants through a process whereby residents, business people and community leaders will describe and diagram their concepts for economic revitalization implementation for the South Shore.

This event should be held on Tuesday at one of the Council meetings.

Another one of those ‘Go nowhere meetings’ primarily led by people that produce nothing.

You would think by now the people would start waking up to the damage this type of approach causes.

I guess that most all smart people left town.

I predict a year from now this will have led to nothing just like all the other meetings have. The situation will be worse.

What tahoe needs is less government crony agencies doing what has historically been a private sector process. The Chamber(s) have been corrupted (Cronyfied) by steppping up to the tax jar and the board members are not worth following.

You are your own worst enemies. The better leaders have left the building for brighter futures.

These people know very little about SLT, except their own self interest. No need to get misinformation here.
