Chris Alper, South Lake Tahoe local for 33 years, was recently diagnosed with a recurrence of breast cancer. She has worked at the local car dealership Cardinale Way Toyota (formerly Shehadi Motors) for more than 14 years.

Two surgeries last month have left her in need of assistance with medical bills and living expenses during her recuperation and treatment.

A series of fund-raising events have been planned:

Oct. 25: Primo’s Italian Bistro (2180 Lake Tahoe Blvd., South Lake Tahoe ) will donate 10 percent of its dinner proceeds from 5-9pm.

Oct. 30: Passaretti’s Italian Restaurant (1181 Emerald Bay Road, South Lake Tahoe) will donate a percentage of dinner proceeds.

Coming soon: Special dinner event at Ernie’s, including a raffle and silent auction.

For more information or to make a donation, contact Gia Richards at (916) 704.6900 or grichards@cherrycreekradio.com.

An account for Chris Alper has been set up at Bank of the West: No. 029201988.

I first met Chris 12 years ago when she helped me order my Dodge Diesel. What a great lady and was so helpful with all that went into the order.

So sorry to hear of her struggles with life. She will be in my thoughts and prayers.

God Bless you and stay strong. Chris.

The wonderful SLT Community always steps up to help folks out! It would be nice if the annual ACS Relay for Life event left a portion of $ raised, in the community for cancer grants. Most charities (such as Komen Race for the Cure) require by their “charter” that a percentage of funds raised must remain in that community!

Chris and Robert at Cardinale were so helpful in finding me the car I was looking for. Now it’s time to help Chris.

Hang in there Chris…I and the community will turn out to help.
