Simple seemingly insignificant actions such as focused landscape and building maintenance seem to be a sign that locals care about the environment. If we care to have a better existence, maybe more people will visit to have an elevated experience.

I agree with Sue and Perry. Shop locally! I have my whole life. Perry, yes some landscaping and building maintence are sorley needed on several businesses thru town.
I would suggest a seminar be put on for local busines owners that emphasizes on training their employees on how to treat their customers. Being polite, courteous and helpful. Not indifferent, bored, lazy and just putting in time so they can get their friday paycheck.
Personally I’ve had, for the most part, good quality service from most all the places in town, be it the gas station to the resturaunts, big and small. I have heard complaints from others who were treaed rudely.Lousy service, crummy food and a run down building to boot.

To assist the communities of the Lake Tahoe Basin in finding consensus behind plans for economic transformation and revitalization, I have started a blog. My intention is to provide a site that is a magnet, repository and resource for community sourced ideas that address our challenges. The blog is a platform where your ideas can be shared, civilly debated and honed until they garner broad-based community support. No plan will or should move forward until it has the support of WE THE PEOPLE.
