Employees at Alpine Meadows are mourning the loss of one of their own.

Officials said on Saturday Annalise Kjolhede, a ski school instructor, was skiing the mountain before the resort opened when she hit a rock. She suffered serious neck and head injuries and passed away from her injuries on Nov. 13.

Alpine Meadows in a statement said, “…Though she was part of our team but one season, Annalise was a valued member of Alpine Meadows’ Kids Ski School. Her outgoing personality, passion for working with kids and friendly nature will be remembered and missed by all of her friends and colleagues here at Squaw and Alpine. Her passing is a tragic loss for our team and community.”

Kjolhede was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.

Whats this tell you about the up-coming customers of Thanks Giving crowds about the condition?

I know people can’t wait to shred, but it pays both in your body and your equipment not being the victims of Poor condition pushing it too hard, there’s plenty winter left to come and the snow will get better as times goes along.

RIP…Kjolhede ,MAY ALL YOUR TURNS BE SMOOTH FOREVER.

Saturday was a perfect day to skin up and ski down the slopes anywhere around Tahoe.
Thousands did just that had a great day and returned home safely.

What happened to Annalise was a freak accident, akin to being hit by lighting.

there is noone to blame here, or the need for the nanny state to impliment more rules.

I would like to belive Annalise was on top of the world enjoying her life right up untill that moment.

My condolences and and thought for those she leaves behind.

A young woman who likes to climb snow cered mountains for fun!! A rare breed, she will be sorely missed by all.
