A driver died in a wreck on Highway 89 near Tahoe City on Monday morning, the California Highway Patrol said.

The crash was reported about 7:45am Nov. 26. A vehicle went off the road and into several trees, according to the Truckee CHP.

Part of Highway 89 was closed so a tow truck could access the scene.

The roadway is now open.

No other vehicles were involved.
