Snowshoe, sled, book a trip to Hawaii…
Have a seat at my bar and listen to me spinning tall tales of South Lake Tahoe! And of course it’s obligatory for them to drink a few ‘Chip Shots’ while doing so.
Snowsheing/hiking in Hope Valley, Tallac Historic Area, or Fallen Leaf Lake. Giving money to the casinos in exchange for entertainment, drive around the lake, visit one of the many state parks in the area, go ice skating.
Go see a show. We took the entire family to Illusion Fusion at the Horizon and LOVED it. Alex Ramon made our whole trip.
Bundle up and take some great pictures of what Tahoe is all about. Snow and Ice shots are spectacular. Watch the snow fall, catch snow flakes. There are so many delightful and gorgeous bars and public areas, sit by the fire and read a book.
Go for a brisk run in the fresh snow this weekend!
More ?s than answers here. What is their physical condition, how coordinated are they, what is their ability to learn, what is the financial situation, ect……Then there are the huge entertainment and dining options.
Ice Skating, the museum (On Saturdays), Heavenly Village, a piece of pie and cup of coffee by the fire at the campground in Hope Valley, Genoa, snow shoeing, a ride in a horse drawn carriage or sleigh, learn to knit, a drive around the lake, Tallac Historic area, tour all of the art stores in town, thrift store hunting, a ride up the Gondola, having lunch by the fire at Blue Angel Cafe, a paddle wheel boat ride.
Unlike most other resort towns, we have lots to offer. Mt. Biking has been great the last few weeks but bring extra cloths, golfing in the Carson valley is only a short drive. Take a helicopter ride and get a view of the lake that few get. Heli-Tahoe at Lake Tahoe airport. Soar Minden for a sail plane ride. Great views of Tahoe also. Sport fishing for big Lake Trout. Most trails are still open for hiking. A ride on the gondola is a must for the less adventurous. Boat ride on MS Dixie or the Tahoe Queen. As long as the weather holds, Doug Anderson is still renting bikes at the “Y”. Ice skating is always fun for the whole family. Sliding on the snow with sleds or saucers at Hansens or top of Echo Summit. Snowmobiling is a blast. Movies, shows, dinner with a view. The possibilities are endless !!!
Go on a boat cruise. The beautiful lake with a backdrop of snow capped mountains can’t be beat. Lake Tahoe Boat Rides is open all year and the Queen and Dixie also run periodically in the winter. http://Www.TahoeBoatRides.com.
Suggestions for visitors who don’t ski or snowboard? Take a ride on either The M.S Dixie or The Tahoe Queen and enjoy the beauty of Emerald Bay. Go to the Beacon out at Camp Richardson, have a drink and a nice dinner, lunch or some appetizers as you gaze out at the lake. While your’e out there and if its open get a tour of Vallhala and also go to the stream profile chamber.Coming back into town if you don’t feel like going to one of our fine restaurants stop at Grass Roots or Overland Meats for something to cook up back at the condo or vacation home.To wind down after a long day and if you brought your swim suit go to the Recreation Center and get in the city pool. Since your in that neck of the woods go over to the city’s public library and rent a movie. Go across the highway and watch the sunset from El Dorado Beach. Then sit by the fire and enjoy our clear skies as you look up at the moon and stars.
There’s lots more that I could add. One last thing Tahoe visitor, if you have accsess to a computer become a paid subscriber to Lake Tahoe News as that will help feed some of the people in need in our community (sorry, shameless plug!).
Thanks for your time, Old Long Skiis
send them to harvey’s poker room to play texas holdem…its fun and exciting..they could meet very interesting people there from all over..and maybe win some $$
Inhale 63 known cancer causing carcinogens, 4,000 to 8,000 toxic chemicals and 619 additives from Secondhand smoke in the casinos… or (my choice) snowshoeing, ice skating, seeing a movie at Heavenly Village, or going to a smoke-free California restaurant or bar to listen to music.
they could go to Dr. Abby get a script

they could go to the Herion dealers house on Neveda ave. then nod out for the afternoon

America’s all year playground not the Millionaire’s playground

Take an aerial tour of the lake. The views are unbeatable.
Be free, do what ever turns you on when you are away from the town you came from, most people are friendly, open to many different life styles ,show us something we haven’t seen yet on the dance floor, hot leather pants contest, feel free to get high,be sure to have a good time whatever you find to do.
It’s all in the eyes of who you are, what you seek!
