South Tahoe snow removal routes available online
South Lake Tahoe’s “live” snow removal route interactive map is online. This tells people where snow removal operators are clearing the roadways.
Updates to the snow removal route map are provided as streets are plowed every eight, 16, and 24 hours.
The street superintendent is reminding residents to park all vehicles out of the city rights-of-way when snow conditions exist. Place mailboxes and trash cans as far back off the roadway as possible.
I must confess, I had no idea the City was so efficient.
Plow boys do an amazing job IMHO.
I am not happy with the website. It is inaccurate. I have checked the site 7 times during the last three days, each time while driving around. The website does not show where the plows are at in real time; in fact, not at all.
I had high hopes when I heard of the site and the plows and blower to be equipped with GPS units.
I find it mostly worthless for planning purposes.
Early last week, whoever was running the grader up on Tahoe Mountain was AMAZING! They did such an awesome job I thought the berm fairy had touched every driveway up here and made them all vanish. Thank you, it was noticed, and not just by me. We’re friendly neighbors up here and we all noticed.
This particular storm system, it’s not quite as good. But hey, we understand. This storm is just a hair bigger. . .
It’s is not inaccurate……..I see some that haven’t been done last 8 hours that haven’t been plowed ,unless they count the sand truck?
He’s the one make people call, they don’t have a gate,so they hose YOU, they get fed up with shoveling to wake up to that.
Rocky Point ?
Lost Sheep?
Few there, went plowed them out ,tourist ,all they want do go clubs, leave some kid to baby sit their rug rats,Thrilling!
But they do know how fork over 20.00 dollar bills.
It would be helpful if they could indicate where horrendous, backbreaking berms were left. Those must be coded as “green”.
