State money to help fix Highway 89
The South Shore is getting a chunk of the $333 million in California Transportation Commission money that was awarded Tuesday.
El Dorado County is getting $12.4 million for a water quality collection and treatment facility project on Highway 89 from one-tenth mile north of the Eagle Falls sidehill viaduct to Meeks Creek Bridge.
This is one of 91 projects funded in part with $233 million from Proposition 1B, a transportation bond approved by voters in 2006. Another $100 million is from assorted transportation accounts funded by state and federal dollars.
The county is also getting money for improvements on Highway 50 east of Camp Sacramento.

If we would just get our Gov’t out of the commons like our roads and water projects like this and just let privatization free market forces run these projects we would be so much better…. Oh wait a minute, projects like these would never happen because they are not profitable in the new owner’s(not us) business model.
Bill if they gave the city the entire awarded funds, there still wouldn’t be enough to FIX WHAT’S TORE UP ON OUR STREETS.
Come out the fog ,for all the long time residents that been here, watched over the decades the Big Shots only priority was to build a new city more attraction for the out Towner show case, while ignoring the regular Joe’s who live,work here year round.(these tourist go home to better cities while we see the wear tear their present brings to us),it doesn’t balance out and it east to see.They wasted so much wealth’s of monies on BS, that now, you can witness the fleecing of their greedy bad decisions.
They never finished on project that didn’t have flaws and short coming of what they said it be in the beginning.And the one that were finished haven’t live up to their billing.
People need to understand this all over the country,our nation as a whole is bad need of some TLC,but there’s no money or programs that can take on what the politicians Hide from the greedy backdoor dealing at U.s. Citizens cost paying for it.
They need to come up with programs like after the wars that promoted Hoover damn, new grid,Better repaired bridges and put every single person that wants to eat better, live better, a chance to build what once a best place on earth to live.
Somewhere along the line of commands, we got lost in simple ideas,ways,desire to keep up with the other countries and became the consumer instead the builders, all because someone let corporation sell us out to cheap labor in other places.
This town can never survive on holidays,few resorts,it needs culture,production,cooperation,more than the never ending ideas that are repeated every friggin day among the business people here.
loop roads,rebuilding rivers,crawdad fishing,parking meters just don’t do anyone with common sense any good.
