Day devoted to getting girls interested in math, science

A Math and Science Career Day for girls in grades 6-10 is April 20 at Lake Tahoe Community College from 9am-3pm.

The free event is hosted by LTCC and the American Association of University Women.

This conference will feature workshops by local women with backgrounds in math and science. The keynote speaker will be LTCC President Kindred Murillo.

The conference includes hands-on learning and real-life connections to careers in math and science.

Lunch is provided free to all attendees.

    When I was young, I would have loved a day like this. Who knows on what path this will propel the girls of today! Kudos to AAUW, LTCC and the interesting panel of speakers. I can’t wait.
