There has been a core group of individuals working together for several years, raising awareness and funds to support “wellness, dignity and independence of El Dorado County seniors and their caregivers”. They call themselves the Friends of El Dorado County Seniors.

Through their newly created Friends of El Dorado Seniors Fund at the El Dorado Community Foundation they are ready for their first granting cycle and offering $3,000 in grants to local not for profit organizations serving seniors in El Dorado County.

A grant application form is available to qualifying organizations at the El Dorado Community Foundation Office, 312 Main St., Suite 201, Placerville, or call (530) 626.5621 and request a Friends of El Dorado Seniors grant application form.

Applications are due by 5pm June 30.

Great — I hope the local Senior Club applies for a grant to fund exercise classes for seniors for free. Maybe Tai Chi, Stretching & lite Yoga, etc.
