An altercation at Lakeview Commons late Sunday afternoon sent one person to jail and another to the hospital.

Zachariah Libby of South Lake Tahoe was arrested July 21 on assault with a deadly weapon charges and child endangerment.

Police told Lake Tahoe News the initial investigation shows that Libby punched another man for “entirely unprovoked reasons.”

The victim was holding a 4-year-old child when he was hit. The child was not injured. The adult, whose name has not been released, was taken to Barton Memorial Hospital. The extent of his injuries is not known.

The deadly weapon charge is for Libby’s fist, “which has caused some potential for inflicting great bodily injury,” police said.

The investigation is ongoing.

I wonder if alcohol was a factor? And I wonder if the City/PD will ever enforce the prohibition of alcohol at Lakeview Commons, which is a city park?

So his fists are considered a deadly weapon. I guess that means that when Trayvon Martin attacked George Zimmerman and beat his face with his fists, he attacked him with a deadly weapon. That justifies the self defense shooting…or wait, no…that doesn’t satisfy the race baiters agenda. So it’s only assault with a deadly weapon when it’s convenient.

All I can say (not knowing the particular people) is that there is developing at Lakeview Commons an unseemly group of regulars that will need monitoring closer, as there is no such problem at either Wednesday or Thursday nights – the police presence is adequate on those nights, but may not be at other times. . .

    “Come to the Wild Side”

An ad slogan unfortunately a little too true.

glad that the jerk was arrested and maybe there will be more/better patrol for alcohol/drug violations at this beach. I wont go there due to the type of folk that hang out there all the time (from my perspective) and too many dogs too!
